Classic Home Mortgage is recycling GREENBACKS for GREEN POWER on your behalf. That’s right. Every time a loan is closed with Classic Home Mortgage, we exchange a portion of our profits for clean renewable energy, replacing non-renewable fossil fuel sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. How? Classic Home Mortgage participates in South Carolina’s PaCE Program.

Palmetto Clean Energy (PaCE) is a SC non-profit organization that promotes the generation of electric energy through environmentally friendly, renewable resources, such as solar, wind, biomass and water. These renewable energy resources improve the environment through reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

Classic Home Mortgage funds green power (renewable energy) through contributions to the program from proceeds of each loan closed with us. These contributions are collected by South Carolina investor-owned electrical utilities and remitted to PaCE in their entirety. Contributions to the program help provide financial incentives for generators of electricity from renewable sources.

Unlike energy generated from fossil fuels, of which there is a finite supply, Renewable Energy is obtained from resources that are inexhaustible and/or reusable. Typically, renewable energy releases far fewer carbon emissions than energy produced using fossil fuels.

Classic Home Mortgage, for each loan closed, purchases one block (100 kilowatt-hours) of renewable energy to add to our state's power supply, replacing what would have been energy provided by fossil fuels. Over a year, that's the environmental equivalent of not driving a car for 74 days or planting 150 trees!
